COPOLAD: Cooperation Programme between Latin America and the European Union concerning Drug Policies

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela

A cooperation programme between the EU and Latin America and the Caribbean, leaded by FIIAPP, aimed at improving the impact of drug policies. The proposal is to do so by improving the functioning of the Coordination and Cooperation Mechanism (CCM) on Drugs between the two regions; supporting the development of quality information systems that are compatible between LAC and the EU; identifying criteria and quality practises based on scientific evidence; developing useful intervention planning, implementation and assessment resources in this field; and consolidating cooperation between the national agencies responsible for drug policies through training and the exchange of best practises in order to reduce the drug demand as well as the supply.
