Cuba celebrates the II International Renewable Energy Exhibition

From June 22 to 24, 2022, Cuba will hold the 2nd edition of the International Renewable Energy Exhibition at the PabExpo fairgrounds in Havana. The event, organized by the Cuban Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) aims to boost the use of renewable energies through objectives such as:

• The promotion of foreign investment for the energy transition in favor of renewable energies in Cuba, prioritizing solar energy and biomass.
• Promoting the efficient use of energy and renewable sources for local development and in the industrial, service and residential sectors.
• Support for innovation projects in execution and the promotion of scientific and technical services of universities and research centers.
• The promotion of cooperation between the European Union and the Caribbean, with the participation of Cuba.
• Within the framework of the Fair, the EU-Cuba Experience Exchange Project for the promotion of renewable energy sources in Cuba, managed by the FIIAPP and financed by the European Union, is organizing the Sustainable Energy Forum with the participation of Cuban executives, businessmen and specialists linked to the country’s energy sector, and several representatives of international organizations in the energy sector who will give lectures and seminars on topics of high priority for the Cuban government.

The main topics to be addressed during the forum are: Energy transition policy in Cuba, prospects for solar energy development, EU-Cuba and Caribbean cooperation, renewable energy in the Caribbean and mutual cooperation, investment forum: investment opportunities, experiences and incentives, renewable energy policy, European Green Pact, European islands, keynote lectures: solar thermal energy, energy storage, energy efficiency and green hydrogen.

The forum seeks to create a space for the exchange of experiences, advances and new technologies in the industries and entities associated with the energy sector in Cuba.
