State talent in the state employment administrations of Spain, France, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Ecuador exchange experiences in a workshop organised by SOCIEUX+ and Ecuador’s Ministry of Employment
More than sixty people took part in the workshop, which went under the title Exchange of good practices on communication of State Employment Services with employers: experiences from Europe and analysis of how the relationship with COVID-19 has changed, organised by SOCIEUX+ and Ecuador’s Ministry of Employment.
The workshop is part of the technical cooperation that, since May 2021, the Ecuadorian Ministry of Employment has been developing with the SOCIEUX+ programme with a view to strengthening the skills of the state employment service, facilitating the bringing together of (public and private) employer and job seeker supply and demand with decent employment conditions, thanks to streamlined business management processes and instruments.
The workshop, which was conducted online through the SOCIEUX+ e-learning platform over four weeks, combined live sessions, recorded interviews and shared documents, covering specific aspects such as the organisation of a communication service within a state employment service, the communication needs of companies, the organisation of events, the use of social media, the humanisation of communication, inclusive communication and international alliances.
The new scenario resulting from the pandemic in the relationship between public employment services and employers was another of the topics discussed, as were Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially number 5: Gender Equality, 8: Decent work and 10: Reduction of inequalities as cross-cutting themes throughout this workshop.
SOCIEUX+, a programme financed by the European Union and in whose management the FIIAPP participates, has mobilised specialists in the field including Pedro Parra from the State Employment Service of Spain and Sara Cruz from France’s Regional Directorate of Pôle Emploi Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
The workshop also welcomed a further twenty speakers from Europe, Latin America and from international organisations. In total, five state employment services from European countries, three from Latin American countries, three international organisations and one private service presented their experiences.
The workshop also featured the Delegation of the European Union in Ecuador, which provided information and advice on various sources of funding that could be used to implement the recommendations resulting from the workshops.
Cooperation continues, with two new activities planned for early 2022: the development of a communication plan to increase the visibility of benefits aimed at employers and based on good practices highlighted in the training workshop, and the drawing up of a training plan.
