The Twinning between Spain and Algeria is developing virtual tools to digitise education
Through the European twinning project between Spain and Algeria managed by the FIIAPP, the Ministry of Education of Castilla and Leon and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Algeria are making progress with their project to provide training tools that will digitise education.
The most recent project activity consisted of training educators in teaching technologies. Three specialists from the University of Valladolid and the University of Burgos participated.
During the training, information was shared on the use of social networks applied to university teaching and research, focusing on the design of the digital profile of teachers/researchers. Attendees also learned about editing, recording and producing videos for teaching; and evaluating the personal audiovisual practical activity. Finally, a set of technology-based methodological approaches were presented: edu-escape rooms.
So far, 29 weekly sessions have been held on 14 different activities, in which 63 experts have participated, mostly from the University of Valladolid, but also from the universities of Burgos, León, Salamanca, Autónoma de Madrid, Basque Country, Malaga, Murcia and the Quality Agency of the University System of Castilla y León.
Due to the pandemic, training in the three project components was held online. What was initially a necessity has now become a virtue, showing a neighbouring country how to create virtual learning environments in a virtual way. This is also the great challenge for the country’s university network, given the youth of the population and its wide geographical spread.
