The EU programme establishes a schedule of activities to strengthen public policies and implement monitoring and data collection tools

The programme to support the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in Paraguay held a joint workshop to assess progress made with the joint execution and establish the schedule of activities.
Representatives of the main participating Paraguayan institutions such as the SDG Commission , the Ministry for Women and the Ministry for the Environment and Sustainable Development participated in the meeting with experts from the Spanish National Institute of Statistics; the delegation of the European Union; and FIIAPP.
The scheduled activity programme prioritises, among other issues, strengthening the Paraguayan institutional framework to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) with particular emphasis on SDGs 5, gender equality; 13, climate action; and 15, life on land.
At the same time, the implementation of specific tools will be driven forward to strengthen the execution of public policies, follow-up and monitor progress, and gather standardised data for reporting, all enhancing the role and leadership of the participating public institutions.
Subsequent workshops will be an opportunity to exchange international experiences on the collection of statistical information and will focus on gender and environment issues to raise awareness of SDG indicators.
