An exchange of experiences between Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Cuba on methodologies to develop the entrepreneurial ecosystem of their business fabric
A moment during the opening session of the workshop cycle
One main area in updating the Cuban economic model is focused on making changes in the business organisational system and providing it with the necessary prerogatives for efficient operation. One of the challenges faced by the Cuban government, in this regard, lies in forming a business fabric where state companies are coordinated with other cooperative and private forms, in which foreign companies are also included.
Within the framework of the Cuba-EU II Expert Exchange project, a series of technical exchanges have been defined between personnel from the Institute of Economic Research and the Ministry of Economy and Planning of Cuba with specialists from Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic linked to the design of public policies, entrepreneurship and innovation.
These meetings will take place for three months and are designed to share methodologies for the development of the entrepreneurship ecosystem. Topics to be dealt with in the workshops range from the normative or legislative adaptation of the contents of other laws to the country’s context in terms above all of financing, tax benefits or cost-utility; the review of practical cases; to the analysis of tools for the implementation of innovative business models.
This initiative aims to facilitate the application of the imminent approval of a law that will regulate the creation of micro, small and medium-sized state, mixed and private companies in the country.
About the project
The Cuba-EU II Exchange of Experts cooperation project , funded by the European Union and managed by FIIAPP, pursues the objective of accompanying Cuba in the implementation of its socio-economic policy guidelines through the mobilisation of experts from the EU, Cuba and third countries in matters of administration management and public policies.
