European Union-Cuba II experience expert exchange project provides virtual training to modernise socioeconomic policies
Cuba will host a virtual seminar on methods and techniques for preparing market studies focused on international trends and setting procedures and price projection.
The initiative is part of the EU-Cuba II expert exchange project that is assisting Cuban administrations to modernise the financial sector in the country by sharing experiences, knowledge and good practices between the European Union and public organisations in Cuba.
The seminar, which will last for four weeks, will help to improve the capacity of foreign trade companies, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba ( MINCEX ) and trade support institutions to define Cuba’s foreign trade strategy.
It will be taught by a consultancy firm that specialises in the field and by heads of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of El Salvador (PROESA) Among others, it will deal with the following content: methodology and content of market studies and reports, trends, opportunities, country profiles, product-market technical specifications, pricing, conceptual framework for defining the external price and training methods. The participation of PROESA specialists will enable Cuban participants to learn first-hand about the initiatives and support programmes launched in their neighbouring country and to exchange knowledge on these matters.
The activity will have a total of 33 participants, specialists and management personnel, belonging to different Cuban institutions and companies related to foreign trade, foreign investment and international collaboration.
The seminar was officially opened at an event attended by Marta Ramírez, attaché to the Delegation of the European Union in Cuba and Daylí Martínez, deputy director of the Centre for the Promotion of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba (ProCuba).
