The EU-Cuba Exchange of Experiences project provides health protection material to face COVID
The project on the promotion of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency in Cuba, within the framework of the “Cuban Energy Policy Support Programme” funded by the European Union, took the first step to providing the project in Cuba with health protection material.
The duration of the global state of health emergency will foreseeably lengthen in time, and in order to continue developing project activities, it is necessary to have the necessary protection measures.
In this context of international pandemic, basic materials have been acquired to prevent the spread of COVID, these comprise masks and disinfectant gels to be delivered to the Department of Renewable Energy of the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM), the coordinator of the energy programme and partner of FIIAPP, the project’s managing agency.
These measures will guarantee the health security of the personnel associated with the Cuban Energy Policy Support Programme, as well as the participants in the seminars and workshops. The use of the material will allow the project to continue working as near to normal as possible and enable the programming of the face-to-face activities provided for in the four projects associated with the cooperation programme to be maintained. All of this will also contribute to the common good of minimising the spread of the epidemic.
