The specialists travelled to Egypt to establish the activities to be undertaken as part of the twinning project
Specialists assigned to the “Twinning Between the SPTO and the Egyptian Patent Office (EGPO)” project travelled to Cairo with the coordinator for the project to establish a roadmap for the project. The activity is the Spanish group’s first mission as part of this twinning.
The specialists worked for two days in Egypt, meeting representatives from the Egyptian Patent Office “EGPO”. The meetings were organised to define the general aspects of the activities to be carried out and the results desired from the implementation of the project components to be led by the Spanish specialists.
The twinning project with Egypt, which is managed by the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office O.A. (SPTO) entitled “Supporting and Upgrading the Institutional, Technical and Awareness Capabilities of the Egyptian Patent Office”, is funded entirely by the European Commission and is expected to last two years.
FIIAPP is managing this project and the SPTO will undertake it in collaboration with the Danish Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO) and the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), as junior partners.
A series of activities have been scheduled throughout the project, including workshops, training sessions, expert missions, study visits and advice.
