The Cuba-European Union Expert Exchange Program II has organised a seminar on policies for access to the European market in pharmacoeconomics

Havana hosted the ‘Access to the Market, Prices and Financing’ seminar organised by the FIIAPP, the Carlos III University of Madrid and BioCubaFarma, a group of the biotechnological and pharmaceutical industries of Cuba.
This training, the third of several workshops on pharmacoeconomics, has been delivered within the framework of the Cuba-European Union Expert Exchange Program II, financed by the European Union and managed by the FIIAPP.
This seminar provided a series of guidelines of the different access policies to European markets, the study of financing mechanisms and prices, as well as alternative models of business management regarding regulatory, evaluating and health bodies.
This knowledge has contributed to the training of specialists in the Economic Evaluation of Health Technologies in Cuba, familiarising them with a complex market such as the European one, into which Cuban pharmaceutical products with a high impact on health aspire to enter in the future.
Likewise, the seminar was attended by 20 professionals from various institutions closely related to pharmaceutical and biotechnology development and the Cuban health sector.
About the project
The Cuba-European Union Expert Exchange project’s objective is to support the Cuban government in implementing its socio-economic policy guidelines through the exchange of experiences, expertise and good practices in the management and administration of public policy.
This project has been implemented in close collaboration with the Republic of Cuba’s Ministry of Economy and Planning and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment, and the European Union Delegation to Cuba.
