Meeting of specialists to deepen negotiation skills in investigating kidnappings and extortion
Fifty specialists from the Peruvian Ministry of the Interior and Public Prosecutor’s Office have developed their skills for two weeks through two courses, taught by Spanish officials, held in Lima and Trujillo. The content of the sessions included the tools, methodologies and research techniques used in the prosecution of kidnapping and extortion cases. Likewise, aspects relating to negotiation theory, investigation of kidnappings, protocols and psychology have also been discussed.
This is the first course in the project “Support From EU Law Enforcement in the Fight Against Drugs and Organised Crime in Peru“. The project is financed by the European Union and managed by FIIAPP and aims to increase the effectiveness of drug control policies and those adopted in the fight against organised crime. It will do this by improving the effectiveness of training schools, inter-institutional cooperation and the Peruvian intelligence systems.
The participation of all the organisations related to the fight against drug trafficking and organised crime (Police, Public Prosecution and Justice) encourages the attention to the problem to be comprehensive and, thus, favours inter-institutional cooperation, dialogue and the search for shared solutions.
