Bolivian police receive training in different cities of the country in order to improve efficiency in the fight against drug trafficking and related crimes

As part of the project “European support for special forces to fight drugs in the application of Bolivian law“, funded by the European Union and managed by FIIAPP in coordination with CONALTID, Spanish specialists gave an operational intelligence course in the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz.
This training, which will also be given throughout May in the cities of Cochabamba and La Paz, is intended to strengthen the operational capacities of intelligence in the field, as well as technical and technological, of Bolivian police and prosecutors, through training on tools, models and current standards in police intelligence.
During the sessions, it is intended to address aspects related to the methods of intelligence operations, the definition of the required police model and its role in supporting criminal investigations, the strategies and techniques of surveillance and detention, as well as techniques for writing reports.
The relevance of the topics covered on the course lies in the importance of police intelligence for public safety and the defence of states. The effectiveness and efficiency of the performance of security bodies depends to a great extent on the skill of its agents. Good training can avoid errors that result in the impossibility of the correct outcome of the subsequent judicial process.
This training is aimed at specialists from the Special Force to Fight Drug Trafficking (FELCN), the Special Anti-Crime Force (FELCC), the Financial Investigations Unit (UIF), the National Customs Office, the National Immigration Office, the International Police (INTERPOL), the Police University (UNIPOL) and the State Attorney General’s Office.
