The project has participated in this high level international meeting in which the importance of this type of cooperation has been commended
The II United Nations High-Level Conference on South-South Cooperation (PABA+40), organized by the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) in collaboration with the Government of Argentina, has recently been held in Buenos Aires.
Chaired under the slogan “The role of South-South Cooperation and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development : challenges and opportunities“, the UN Secretary General and five heads of state (Argentina, Estonia, Paraguay, Swaziland and Uruguay) are taking part, in addition to 160 government delegations and almost 4,000 participants from non-governmental organizations, UN agencies and civil society.
The EVALÚA project, financed by the European Union and managed by FIIAPP, has taken part in the meeting through a permanent stand and a side-event, both organized by Adelante, the European programme for triangular cooperation of which EVALUATE is a part.
The Commissioner of International Cooperation and Development, Neven Mimica, underlined the desirability of PABA+40 promoting the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals that it contains as a common and global objective. For all these reasons, international cooperation, including South-South and triangular cooperation, must be an asset to achieve this momentum.
