Within the framework of the project Law Enforcement in the Greater Horn of Africa and Yemen, a workshop on various aspects of judicial and police cooperation was held

The workshop “Improving Counter-Terrorism Response Capacity in East Africa: Strengthening Cross-Border Exchanges of Information and Evidence”, was held in Nairobi over two days with the aim of discussing opportunities to combine the efforts of the various agencies and share good practices on regional and national cooperation in order to contribute to the security and stability of the region.
This activity, held within the framework of the project Law Enforcement in the Greater Horn of Africa and Yemen, financed by the European Union and managed by FIIAPP, was carried out in five work sessions in parallel with the Plenary of the Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF) for the East Africa region.
This training, implemented by the Counter Terrorism Monitoring, Reporting and Support Mechanism-CT Morse and the project led by FIIAPP, was attended by 140 people, including national and regional experts, international organisations such as Interpol’s Regional Bureau for East Africa, the United Nations, the African Union and regional organisations such as EAPCCO.
In addition, representatives of national delegations from Europe, Australia, Canada, the United States, Jordan and Saudi Arabia were present. Spain was represented by delegates from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Prosecution Service and the Embassy of Spain in Kenya.
The project Law Enforcement in the Greater Horn of Africa and Yemen aims to improve the capabilities of the intelligence services, security forces, prosecutors and courts in the Horn of Africa and Yemen.
