Signing of the work plan by the Tunisian project leader and his Spanish counterpart
The work plan for the first semester of the project “Institutional support to improve the capacities of the research and innovation system in Tunisia”, financed by the European Union and managed by FIIAPP, has been signed in Tunis by its Tunisian project leader and his Spanish counterpart in the presence of the Delegation of the European Union and the Management Unit of the Support Programme for the Association Agreement between Tunisia and the European Union.
This twinning project aims to give the country a more competitive economy and produce goods and services with higher added value, in order to improve the competitiveness of its economy and facilitate its internationalization.
In this way, improvements to Tunisia’s research and innovation system based on Spain’s experiences over the last 30 years will be analysed and proposed.
Spain, through the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MICIUN), relevant state players in the design and implementation of public policies for scientific innovation, and FIIAPP, will support Tunisia in reviewing its regulatory framework in the field of scientific research to improve its governance system and organization, and strengthen the management and technical capacities of the general directorates in charge of research and innovation.
It also seeks to highlight the reputation of the Tunisian system of research and innovation at both domestically and internationally, in line with the requirements of the EU acquis and good practices.
The official launch of the project is expected over the course of the next six months, as are several missions in which the European experts will accompany the Tunisian administration in analysing its regulatory framework and drawing up its governance strategy.
