Colombia and EUROsociAL + have met at a dialogue table with the purpose of coordinating the joint actions with the National Development Plan 2018-2022 for the country
In this round table, a roadmap has been provided that structures the priority focuses and processes currently under way or starting soon in the framework of EUROsociAL +, a programme financed by the European Union and managed by the FIIAPP.
These guidelines make the interventions of this programme more effective in those public policies that improve levels of social cohesion, reduce inequalities and promote equity, equality and the well–being of citizens.
Also, in the meeting between the EUROsociAL + programme and Colombia, joint actions have been coordinated with the National Development Plan 2018-2022 “pact for Colombia, pact for equity”, the implementation of the Peace Accords, the alignment with the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development and the country’s commitments to the OECD .
90 representatives from 30 Colombian institutions were present at this meeting, along with the liaison of the International Cooperation Presence Agency , the EU Delegation and the EUROsociAL + programme.
The director of the Presidential Agency for International Cooperation (APC Colombia), Angela Ospina, stressed that the Colombian round table “is a meeting to support the development of national public policies aimed at equity.”
The head of Cooperation of the European Union in Colombia, Francisco García, in turn pointed out the EU’s efforts to ensure a response to the priorities of the Colombian Government, with EUROsociAL + as a coordinating mechanism of the policy dialogue in the field of regional programmes operating in the country.
