After four years of work in the country, with the support of the Social Support Fund, the closing ceremony of the Local Development programme was held in Angola
The project has been implemented in 14 of the 18 provinces of the country with the aim of bringing more even-handed coverage to the provision of basic services in Angola.
Financed by the European Union and managed by FIIAPP and the Social Support Fund (Spanish initials, FAS) since 2015, the project had as its key priorities reducing territorial imbalances and social differences in access to basic public services, promoting diversified local economies intended to improve social welfare and strengthen the ability of local governments to provide quality services to the poorest families.

The closing ceremony was attended by the ministers of Territorial Administration and State Reform and Economy and Planning, the provincial governor of Luanda, municipal administrators, representatives of the European Union, the World Bank and FIIAPP, FAS staff members and guests.
The project was very positively assessed by all those involved in it as the results included providing tools for the better planning and management of public services in a number of Angolan municipalities, increasing the capabilities of the Social Support Fund, bringing social services and healthcareto families in the more vulnerable and remote areas of the country andincreasing business and income opportunities for small producers and entrepreneurs.
