The General Director of International Cooperation and Development of the European Commission, Stefano Manservisi, visited the FIIAPP and met with its Director
Stefano Manservisi, General Director of International Cooperation and Development of the European Commission, and Anna Terrón, Director of the FIIAPP have held a meeting at the headquarters of the Foundation. The institutional meeting took place against the backdrop of the cooperation and development policy of the European Commission and the EU’s Foreign Investment Plan .
The meeting has also served to give relevance to the cooperation between public administrations in the proposal of a new EU international cooperation instrument(NDICI). Likewise, both the General Director of international cooperation and development of the European Commission and the Director of the FIIAPP have agreed to expand instruments such as Twinning to high income countries.
Lastly, both parties have agreed on the importance of the 2030 Agenda and, in particular, the concepts of migration, gender and climate change as paradigms thereof.
The Directorate General for International Cooperation and Development of the European Commission is the Community institution in charge of implementing the European policy of international cooperation and development, as well as managing humanitarian aid and development throughout the world.
The Directorate General is also responsible for specifying the thematic policies of the European Union aimed at reducing poverty in the world and promoting democracy, the rule of law, respect for human rights, sustainable economy and social and ecological development, adapting to the needs of partner countries.
