Directors of the European cooperation agencies meet in Berlin to discuss the future of European cooperation and joint efforts
The directors of the major cooperation agencies of the European Union member states discussed with the European Commission Corporation Office (EuropeAid) the future of European cooperation and the implementation of the European Consensus on Development, in the General Assembly of the Practitioners’ Network held in Berlin.
The discussions were divided into two blocks: Joint implementation and inclusiveness, looking at practical solutions for improving joint efforts to implement European cooperation projects. And, in this way, to ensure the mobilisation of all the resources of the European Union for development.
FIIAPP presented the results and recommendations from the study made in recent months by the Practitioners’ Network. In particular, the mobilisation of government department knowledge and its importance for innovative cooperation mechanisms with the more advanced developing countries. And the triangular cooperation that is intended to promote the European Consensus on Development.
The director of FIIAPP, Pedro Flores, emphasized the importance of offering support to public policy reform processes and coming together to confront the problems that are shared with our partner countries in building common values.
Also, during the meeting, the chairmanship of the European network was passed on by the German cooperation agency (GIZ) to the French agency (Expertise France).
