A team of Tunisian computer specialists participated in a training visit to Spain to learn firsthand about the functioning of a computer system for digitalisation and processing of medical-financial information used in Spanish hospitals.
This visit took place within the framework of the Twinning project between Spain and Tunisia, Strengthening of Hospital Management in Tunisia, which is in its second phase of implementation. It is funded entirely by the European Commission and managed by FIIAPP. The objective of this project is to modernise the health system of the Maghreb country through the implementation of a computer system for processing the health information handled by the Tunisian public health service, and as a tool for optimising management of its medical and financial resources.
During the visit, the Tunisian delegation, made up of three computer specialists from various of the country’s hospitals, attended a four-day training session at the Health Sciences Institute in Talavera de la Reina (Toledo). The visit was organised by the Castilla la Mancha Health Department, and the training was given by José Luis Román Campos, an expert and head of the informatics department of the Hospital de Tomelloso.
