A delegation of Angolan experts visits eight Spanish institutions to find out about their experience of local development.
The FIIAPP organised, together with the University of Distance Learning (UNED) and the Association of Local Development Professionals (APRODEL) an exchange visit on local development in Spain which involved a delegation from the Social Support Fund (FAS) in Angola. The delegation comprised the Director General, Santinho Filipe Figueira, and nine provincial directors of the Social Support Fund (FAS) in Angola. For one week, the Angolan delegation experienced first-hand the work on local development of eight Spanish institutions.
Through this visit, the participants came into contact with models of local development agencies in Spain, as well as the working methods and experiences of different Spanish institutions on local development, in particular on participation, rural development, promotion of employment, entrepreneurship and the use and management of the earth.
To this end, the participants visited eight Spanish institutions located between the Community of Madrid and the Valencian Community, such as the FIIAPP, the National Institute of Public Administration (INAP), Dénia Town Council or the Polytechnic University of Valencia, among others. In addition, they attended seminars at the University Specialisation Course “Local Development and Employment” of the UNED.
In turn, it is expected that the knowledge acquired in the framework of the visit will enable the FAS to take away ideas about the role of the institution and its approach to local development, in addition to improvements at methodological level.
This visit is part of the FAS Training Plan, within the framework of the “Local Development Project in Angola”, managed by the FIIAPP together with the FAS and funded by the European Commission.
