For two days, the main European cooperation players meet in Brussels to debate the main global challenges during European Development Days.

Today, 7th June, is the first day of European Development Days, the most important annual event for European cooperation, which the European Commission has been organising since 2006.
The event brings together 42,000 participants, 154 countries, 4,500 organisations, 2,600 speakers and seven Nobel Prize laureates, who are meeting in Brussels for two days. The forum is open to the public and serves a meeting point for facilitating contact between the different cooperation sectors in order to form partnerships and thereby address major global challenges.
The main players in European cooperation will share ideas and experiences related to the current situation of the sector.
This edition is being presented under the title “Investing in Development”, and the priority themes to be addressed include sustainable investment, inequality, climate change and migration. Themes that will be addressed through round tables, debates, laboratories and panels. Each of these sessions involves the participation of different institutions or European cooperation agencies, including the European Commission itself, the British Council, the German cooperation agency GIZ, Expertise France, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and FIIAPP, among others.
FIIAPP will organise and participate tomorrow, Wednesday, at 18:00, in the round table entitled “Public expertise and capacity transfer for deeper impact”, together with AECID, Expertise France and the Belgian Development Agency (BTC). A debate that poses the question of how to enhance peer learning and mobilising civil servants know-how, for better public service delivery; a theme that has turned FIIAPP into an example in recent years at an international level.
