The ARAP anti-corruption project in Ghana takes part in creating campaigns to raise citizen awareness

The ARAP (Ghana Anti-Corruption, Rule of Law and Accountability) programme held a citizen education workshop in Big Ada, Ghana, on corruption.
Fifteen Ghanaian institutions collaborated on this workshop, including the main public institutions associated with the National Anti-corruption Plan.
This workshop, attended by 50 people, sought to create a strategic framework for raising citizen awareness of the importance of accountability on the part of public institutions and of the fight against corruption. To this end, it is hoped that the workshop will provide content, key messages and methodologies that will make it possible to conduct public education and citizen awareness campaigns on the problem of corruption.
The ARAP project, within which the workshop was organised, moreover, will collaborate in the design and execution of these campaigns, along with the National Commission for Civil Education (NCCE) and the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).
The ARAP project started in mid-2016 and will have a duration of four and a half years, in which work will be done according to the National Anti-corruption Plan. It has a budget of €13 million, funded by the European Commission, and is being managed by FIIAPP, as the lead partner, in collaboration with German agency GIZ.
