Three inspectors from the Inspectorate General of Labour of Cape Verde travel to Madrid to exchange knowledge with their Spanish counterparts.
As part of the activities planned in the Programme in Support of Inclusive Public Policies in Africa (APIA), managed jointly by FIIAPP and AECID, a visit by civil servants from the Inspectorate General of Labour (IGT) of Cape Verde was organised to learn about Spanish labour inspection institutions.
The Inspector General, Anildo Fernando Fortes and two IGT labour inspectors, Antonio Landim Tavares and Elisangela Dos Reis, visited their counterpart administration in Spain, the Directorate-General for Labour Inspection and Social Security–DGITSS. The purpose of this visit was to enhance the training of the Cape Verdean labour inspectors and thereby improve the quality of inspection services that work to promote the security and dignity of workers.
In addition to the DGITSS, the Cape Verdean inspectors visited the School of Labour Inspection and Social Security (EITSS) and the Territorial Directorate for Labour and Social Security of Madrid (DTITSSM). To give the visit a practical focus, the visiting civil servants participated in inspections of hotel establishments and construction sites, areas of special interest for Cape Verde.
The Programme in Support of Inclusive Public Policies in Africa (APIA) seeks to support the creation and implementation of inclusive social policies in Sub-Saharan Africa, policies that promote access by the most disadvantaged sectors to basic services and the decentralisation of public administrations.
This programme has a budget of €800,000 from the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation and is managed by this agency in collaboration with FIIAPP.
