'LEMMA, together for mobility' is a project with €5 million in funding from the European Union. Led by Expertise France with the support of FIIAPP.
A new project is starting with regard to supporting Tunisia in the matter of migration and mobility. The project, which received €5 million in funding from the European Union, is being led by Expertise France, with the support of the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP).
For a period of three years, the ‘LEMMA, together for mobility’ project will strengthen synergies between Tunisian and European public policies in order to optimise the benefits of migration for Tunisia.
The project´s launch ceremony, attended by the Spanish and European Union ambassadors of Tunisia as well as representatives of the different European Union partner countries in the project (Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Sweden), was an opportunity to present the focus of the project, which has three specific objectives:
Firstly, to boost the capability of Tunisian authorities in managing migration and labour mobility through greater cooperation with the country’s European partners. Secondly, to improve the knowledge of the principal Tunisian communities in Europe and to implement a specific programme to help promote the integration of migration in local and regional development. Finally, to boost the capability of Tunisian authorities and civil society organisations in supporting the reintegration of returning migrants.
The project is part of the EU-Tunisia Mobility Partnership, signed on 3rd March 2014 between the European Union, Tunisia and ten Member States: Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
