The Bridging the Gap animation laboratory will be held from 20th to 25th July in Valencia. The initiative, which is supported by Spanish Cooperation, aims to offer young talents the opportunity to create synergies with important animation professionals.
On Tuesday, 23rd June, the Bridging the Gap – Animation Lab (BTG) international animation laboratory, to be held between 20th and 25th July in Valencia (Spain), was presented at Casa de América in Madrid. This is an initiative supported by Spanish Cooperation through the ACERCA programme (AECID/FIIAPP) which aims to offer young talents the opportunity to create synergies with important animation professionals.
The 14 selected projects from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, France, Guatemala, Kenya, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Spain will participate in an intensive workshop given by industry experts, who will provide the keys to producing, distributing and marketing the animated works.
Bridging the Gap, Animation Lab was started with the aim of generating a transfer of know-how and establishing a bridge between training processes and the industry. In addition, it seeks to facilitate the creation of international partnerships and networks. The initiative is being organised by Bridging the Gap and co-organised by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AECID) through the ACERCA Programme for training in the cultural sector and the FIIAPP (International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies). Culturarts IVAC of the Generalitat Valenciana and the Diputació Valenciana (Valencia regional government and provincial council, respectively), are collaborating. 3D Wire, DIBOOS, Women for Africa, Institut Français Espagne, British Council, Canal +, Pixelatl, Dirac, Prochile, U-tad, Barreira Arte + Diseño and Colegio Mayor Rector Peset of the University of Valencia are providing support.
