From 23rd to 27th March, “Milan Batut”, a module for training people on epidemiological analysis techniques, is being given at the Institute for Public Health in Belgrade, Serbia. This activity is part of the MediPIET project being led by the FIIAPP in conjunction with the Carlos III Public Health Institute.
The activity will serve to strengthen the capacities of the Serbian Institute for Public Health so that it can be accredited as a MediPIET training centre and benefit from the complete training programme offered by the project.
This programme consists of providing two years of training to two Serbian specialists, who would follow the MediPIET training, with the possibility of participating in international epidemiological intervention missions and twinning projects with other countries in the region.
Present at the inauguration were Dr Dragan Ilic, Director of the Serbian Institute for Public Health; Dra Maja Krcmar Vuckovic, of the European Union Delegation to Serbia; and Dr Predrag Sazdanovic, adviser to the Minister of International Cooperation and European Integration of the Serbian Ministry of Health; as well as the MediPIET project manager, José Jaime de Domingo.
