The EUROsociAL Programme of the European Union has been working since 2011 in the Public Finance area on the plan-budget line of action, which includes a broad Programme action relative to public policy evaluation.
To address the request of Latin American countries, in addition to the bilateral work being done with each of them, the “Workshop for institutionalization of public policy evaluation” was held in Lima, Peru on 9th and 10th March 2015. The workshop included presentation of the “Comparative Study of European and Latin American Evaluation Systems”, which contributes knowledge about concrete experiences of institutionalization in the two regions.
In addition, the “Manual of Best Practices in Systematization of Public Policy Evaluation. Experiences in Latin America”, which was put together in the seminar held in July 2014 in Montevideo, was analyzed and discussed.
The workshop included the participation of representatives of various institutions from Costa Rica, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Spain.
To support creation of a roadmap for institutionalization of evaluation in these countries, each one defined concrete actions to be implemented in 2015 with the support of the EUROsociAL Programme.
This action is part of the plan-budget line of action of the EUROsociAL Programme being coordinated by the FIIAPP, in which the Spanish Institute for Tax Studies (IEF) and the Uruguayan Office of Planning and Budget (OPP) are acting as operational partners.
