The FIIAPP coordinates the organization of the second workshop on remittances, financial education and micro-entrepreneurshipin Goíanía, Brazil on 26th and 27th November
This workshop was a follow-up to the one held in London in September aimed at members of the Brazilian Association in the United Kingdom (ABRAS) in London. This activity provided training to these members’ relatives living in Brazil, as well as to Brazilian immigrants who have returned to the State of Goías, to support the possible implementation of micro-entrepreneurship.
This project seeks to strengthen the capacities of civil society (the diaspora and their families) by the providing basic inputs, mainly training and financial information, necessary for formulating local development projects and fostering links to the diaspora.
Besides the partners in this pilot project— the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP), the Organization of Volunteers of Goiás (OVG), the Government of Goías, the Brazilian Association in the United Kingdom (ABRAS)and the Brazilian Ministry of Justice—Banco de Povoand the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Relations(Ytamaraty) participated on an ad-hoc basis.
This workshop was part of the “Strengthening dialogue and cooperation between the EU and LAC to establish management models on migration and development policies” project, which is being financed by the EU and implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in close coordination with its partner, the FIIAPP.
