En el marco del proyecto, “Fortalecimiento del diálogo y de la cooperación entre la UE y ALC para el establecimiento de modelos de gestión sobre migración y políticas de desarrollo”, financiado por la Unión Europea e implementado por la Organización Internacional para las Migraciones (OIM) en estrecha coordinación con su socio, la FIIAPP, ha tenido lugar la cuarta y última actividad del programa de pasantías sobre Migración y Empleo en Bogotá, Colombia.In the framework of the “Strengthening dialogue and cooperation between the EU and LAC for the establishment of management models for migration and development policies”, financed by the European Union and implemented by the International Organization for Migration (OIM) in close coordination with its partner, the FIIAPP, the fourth and final activity of the internship programme on Migration and Employmentwas held in Bogota, Colombia.

Public officials from Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay, as well as Germany and Belgium, participated in this fourth internship entitled “Exchange of experiences in labour migration management” , the organization of which received support from the “Colombia Nos Une” (Colombia Unites Us) programme of the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This internship emphasized the need for migration policies to incorporate priorities and interests linked to employment in order to take advantage of the capacities and skills migrants acquire in the migration process, which lead to an increase in the supply of trained human capital both in the countries of residence and of origin.
Over the course of the week, the participants followed a working agenda that included conferences, training sessions and visits which brought them into contact with key stakeholders and institutions in the context of migration in Colombia.
Likewise, the training sessions included a space for exchange and presentation of the different experiences of the participating countries. The aim was to create a constructive debate on procedures and methods forincentivizing human mobility, as well as to improve knowledge about migration policy.
This event is part of the project on Migration and Development, and its objective was to promote the link between Migration and Employment policies. In addition, it aimed to create a space for dialogue between public officials of the countries of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the EU.
