The FIIAPP will be managing two EU delegated cooperation projects with Cuba and Colombia
The International and Ibero-American Foundation of Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP), will be managing two delegated cooperation projects in Cuba and Colombia in coming months. The European Union is delegating to the FIIAPP the execution and supervision of the projects aimed at Colombian and Cuban public institutions.
The objectives of the Colombian project, which will have a duration of four and a half years, are prevention of and the fight against corruption. The EU is financing it with nearly 7.5 million euros.
To achieve these objectives, there will be activities aimed at fostering public integrity and access to information to promote open government; the co-responsibility of the private sector, citizen control and the participation of civil society; and the strengthening of detection, investigation and punishment of corrupt practices.
In addition, the “Colombian institutional strengthening to increase integrity and transparency” project will support the Colombian government in the implementation and monitoring of the Anti-Corruption Statute, as well as the comprehensive anti-corruption policy, which constitutes an important commitment of the National Development Plan.
In addition, the objective of the Cuban programme, with a budget of 2.9 million euros, is to support the Cuban government in the implementation of its socio-economic policy lines through the exchange of experiences, knowledge and good practices in the management of the administration and of public policies.
The National Institute of Economic Research(INIE), the National Office of Tax Administration (ONAT), the National Office of Statisticsand Information (ONEI), and the Ministry of External Trade and Foreign Investment’s Centre for Advancement are participating in the first annual work plan for the programme. The Cuban Ministry of Economy and Planning and the FIIAPP are co-directing the project, with the coordination of the Ministry of External Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX) as the lead agency for cooperation in Cuba.
These are the first two delegated cooperation agreements signed by FIIAPP, the contractual arrangement by which the European Union delegates diverse activities to a public operator of a Member State.
