The next meeting of the Euro-African Dialogue on Migration and Development (Rabat Process), jointly led by the Republic of Senegal and the Kingdom of Belgium, will be held in Dakar.
The FIIAPPand the ICMPD have organised a very important meeting within the framework of the “Rabat III – Rabat Process: The Dakar Strategy” project, which is financed by the European Union, to take place on the 11th and 12th of September in Dakar.
The meeting’s main objective is to address major challenges, to exchange best practices, and to develop joint solutions for policy decision-making, to introduce measures to raise awareness regarding migration, and, lastly, to evaluate the degree of implementation of the Dakar Strategy roadmap, while strengthening the network of National Focal Points.
Since 2006, the Rabat Process has brought together nearly 60 countries in Europe and North, West and Central Africa, as well as the European Commission (EC) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to deal with the challenges presented by migratory issues.
This process, which has entered the third phase of “The Dakar Strategy,” promotes the implementation of practical and operational initiatives in order to:
– Provide a framework of consultation and coordination,
– Meet the challenges associated with migration,
– Encourage opportunities for exchange and development.
