La FIIAPP gestiona el proyecto: “Mejora de la seguridad marítima, y protección del medio ambiente marino en Azerbaiyán”.The FIIAPP is managing the project: “Improving the Maritime Security and Protecting the Marine Environment in Azerbaijan”.
The objective is to put Azerbaijani marine standards and procedures on the same level as those of the EU and the International Maritime Organization.
Azerbaijani maritime administration personnel visited our country during the month of February to find out about the Spanish civil marine management system.
The Republic of Azerbaijan is a member of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), but it still needs to strengthen some of its standards in order to effectively fulfil the requirements established by the IMO.
The project is set to last 24 months and the FIIAPP will manage 900,000 euros allocated by the EU. The FIIAPP will be relying on the participation of Spanish experts from the Spanish Directorate General for the Merchant Marines.
