The visit, which took place between 28 January and 1 February, will allow for the exchange of experiences with Spanish institutions.
The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) in collaboration with the Government Delegation for Gender Violence (Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality) is financing a study visit and experience exchange visit between Spanish and Jordanian institutions related to the prevention and fight against gender violence.
The visit will take place between 28 January and 1 February and is part of the MASAR Programme activitiesan initiative promoting institutional, social and economic development policies in North Africa and the Middle East through strengthening their institutions and civil society.
The participants will be three senior authorities from the Jordanian Ministry of Social Development and different Spanish authorities: the Secretary of State for Social Services and Equality (Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality), Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Autonomous Region of Madrid. Civil society will also participate in this encounter through womens associations and professionals who are fighting against gender violence.
The Jordanian delegation will be able to find out about the Spanish legal and institutional framework for prevention and action in cases of gender violence, the prevention awareness campaigns carried out and visit some of the victim care services. The purpose of the visit is to share best practices and export those that may be applicable in the Jordanian context.
