Cooperation Assessment

The Secretary General for International Cooperation and Development, Gonzalo Robles, highlighted that assessment policies are one of the Government’s priorities as part of its transparency policy. Therefore, it is an unavoidable commitment to report the use of public resources and even more so in the cooperation sector. Citizens need to know where their money is being spent. Moreover, assessment policies make it possible to discover best practises in management and decision making: more and better knowledge of the impact and objectives of our cooperation.

The assessment policy is not a management plan but there must be a strategy that is coherent among all policies (sustainable development, fight against poverty, strengthening human rights, governability, effective aid, etc) with some basic shared consensus (assessment quality, how to use the results, shared procedures, mechanisms for fostering coordination…).
